Inside a Prison in Uzbekistan
VOA recently got unprecedented access to a prison in Uzbekistan, Colony Number 7, which has imprisoned inmates since 1936 when Joseph Stalin ran the Soviet Union. Located in Tavaksay, Tashkent, this prison had 4,000-5,000 inmates during the last decade, but has since been reduced to about 1,000.
