US-Uzbekistan: Solid military relationship, say officials

At a Washington event marking the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Armed Forces Day, Uzbek and U.S. officials—both civil and military—recognized each other for fostering a strong relationship and maintaining close cooperation in defense and security, particularly in areas such as Afghanistan, the recent transfer of American aircraft to the U.S. (seven Black Hawks) and Uzbekistan (dozens last year), regional stability, and other strategic dimensions.
